I thought i would make a typographic poster. When thinking about which font to use, Helvetica came to mind.

Helvetica is a great font, and when used correctly can make just about anything look good.

It is many graphic designers favourite typeface, but not mine. My favourite (for the moment) is Century Gothic: based on 'Monotype Twentieth Century', a really pleasant looking geometric font.

As a little graphic 'in-joke' I decided to comment on Comic-Sans.

No such thing as a bad font, just bad usage of. (So I read somewhere).

**N.B as this has gained a mild amount of attention recently, i have reworked the original, clearing up some hideous tracking and kerning issues.**

Set in Century Gothic bold, 100pt. Manual alignment.

Thanks for looking.
Sam

It happens a lot if you have American watchers. (I wish I was making this up... some people take an emote called :beatingadeadhorse: literally.)

Thanks!

I sometimes feel that Century Gothic, and similar fonts that I believe have ';pleasing aesthetics' are overlooked because of how easy Helvetica has made things for us.

I feel alot better about the poster now i've spent the time fixing the tracking. The other fonts i'm quite keen on are Baskerville, and Century Schoolbook both of which don't appear to be on my new computer!
